During World War II, Japanese-Americans were targeted and put into Internment camps. They weren't allowed land to farm, and they weren't waited on in many restaurants. They were treated like immigrants instead of citizens, and they had no say in it. Anyone of Japanese decent were treated like aliens. Check out the link below for more information on this witch hunt.

This is a great example of a witch hunt. They treated the japaneses were treated terribley beacuse of who they were and what race they came from...
This is also a type of witch hunt. I don't think that the camps were necessary, they could have been sent to prisons to be interrogated and then let go. I thought America took the situation a bit too far. Just because the Japanese-Americans are different from us and had a bad ancestry...doesn't mean that they should be treated worse.
While it is understandable that Americans would be sceptical of Japanese-Amercians, I do not believe it was a good idea to start the camps. It's hard to believe that a country that was founded on personal rights and freedom would start something like this. Japanese-Americans were pinpointed not because they committed a crime, but simply because of their ancestory. This is definitely a good example of a witch hunt.
It's horrible how cruel we were to them during this time. But it's understandable...how could we trust them? But starting up the camps, like Becca mentioned, was a horrible and wrong choice on our part.
This is a witch hunt but I can also see reason in this witch hunt. It's like the one about terrorists the government was taking extra precautions so that Americans didn't get hurt again. Also it's not like these Japanese people were put in concentration camps they were just put in slightly overcrowded prison camps.
This is another good example of a witch hunt. I definitely agree that these people were only imprisioned because they were of the same decent as the people we were fighting in the war.
I understand that the us government thought they did what they had to do... but did we really need to drop to Hitler's level? locking people up in camps just because of what they look like? great example of witch hunt.
The whole camp idea maybe was uncalled for. Japanese-Americans didn't commit a crime yet but they might have because of there past. So they were just trying to be safe but she this is a witch hunt of coarse.
Some of my favorite stuff in history is learning about the concentration camps, but it is also some of the saddest. The Japanese-Americans were put into these camps because of where they came from and their ancestors. This is a form of a witch hunt.
Once again it’s a witch hunt because Americans were discriminating against the Japanese during the war. Some Japanese were citizens in America and we had no right to send them to prison camps. People thought they posed a threat against America. Why did they have to put them in prison camps? The government could’ve just questioned them to make sure they weren’t spies and that they supported America.
Great example of a witch hunt! Camps were not neeeded for the Japanese-Americans during WWII. Our country is supposed to be free and we put Japanese people in camps, that is way wrong on our part.
Great example of a witch hunt. People are hated because of their ethnicticty or something. Not fair, very injust.
This is a witch hunt for Japanese in America. Not all Japanese people at that time were against Americans. I'm sure that the US could have thought of a better way to protect America than that.
It is sick how people were treated back then, and I'm sure some people are still treated today, just a little more discreetly. Good example of a witch hunt.
I can't believe the United States would do that! I can see why they would be worried about spies, but putting innocent people in camps just for being a certain race is terrible!
Yes this is very unjust and a great example of a witch hunt.
I realized that a lot of people have this as an example of a witch hunt. Don't get me wrong though, this is a great example. I don't see why the American government thought that the Japanese would contact the Japanese-Americans for inside attacks.
You come to realization of true human nature as you blog about witch hunts. I realized we can be so heartless to your fellowman just because of your ethinic background.
well if this isn't a popular topic it's generic but a witch hunt.
The Japaneses-Americans were treated so unfairly. A witch hunt to remember. An American tragedy.
